Our Beach Vacation

Last week, we took a family vacation to Gulf Shores and had a great time! We have been going to the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach/Perdido area every summer since I was born. Its fun taking Harper to all the places that I have visited and loved since I was a kid, like the infamous "shark store." The weather was great, aside from a little rain and clouds on days 1-3. Other than that it was perfect and we even escaped before the sharks infestation (still currently going on I believe). We got our fill of great seafood and sun and are now back home. Here's a few of my favorite pics from the week!

 I miss it already!

Summer's coming! Wardrobe picks and bucket list

It's officially summer in Alabama! Temps are rising, school is winding down, and people are breaking out the shorts and sandals. I have been looking for some new pieces to add to my summer wardrobe (as well as Harper's) and have come across a bunch of CUTE stuff at Target lately. All the summer prints, like pineapples and sailboats are my absolute favorites. Here are a few of the things that Harper and I will be wearing all summer.

Since Harper is older this summer, I thought it would be fun to think of a few "bucket list" items for us to do this summer. Here's what I've come up with so far:

Go to the beach
Have a Disney movie day
Eat popsicles
Grill out
Visit a zoo
Make tie dye shirts
Make s'mores
Visit a farmers market
Watch fireworks
Paint our nails bright colors
Go to an outdoor concert
Play in the sprinklers
Get lunch from a food truck
Eat lots of watermelon
Go to a festival
Road trip
Get a tan
Visit an amusement park
Get ice cream from an ice cream truck
Have a picnic

I can't wait to make so many wonderful memories this summer! Having a baby really does make everything so much more fun. I love seeing her experience new things and get so excited over stuff that we adults take for granted. Its going to be a great summer :)

I'm Baaaaack!

Well, it's been far too long since I've last blogged but I'm ready to get back in the game. I even made a whole new blog design! I've really learned a lot about HTML coding through creating my own blog. Its a lot of fun to experiment with different codes to change the overall look and feel.

Since my last post, spring has pretty much come and gone and it will be summer in the south any day now. We have been enjoying playing outside, coloring with sidewalk chalk, and blowing bubbles for weeks now. We had a great Easter with our family which we spent having picnics and hunting eggs. The Easter bunny visited Harper and she was so happy with all of her goodies :)

We have enjoyed all spring has to offer but I admit I'm ready for summers arrival. Maxi dresses, sandals, pool time and popsicles are all on the horizon! Have a great weekend!

Valentine's Day Goodies

Valentine's Day is coming up soon! I'm especially excited for this year because last year Tyler was out of town for work and Harper was only a month old so we really didn't get to celebrate much. This year Im planning on making a few treats at home with Harper and then going out to dinner with she and Tyler. I always get Harper a few fun goodies to celebrate every holiday (some more than others of course, like Christmas). This year Ive found a few cute outfits, books, and other fun things to give her on Valentines Day. My list also includes some ideas for the ladies in your life (hint hint to my husband perhaps?). ;)

I've been wanting to try out this recipe for a while now, and I think Valentines Day breakfast might just be the perfect occasion.

Look how sweet my little Valentine was last year!

I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day!

Harper's First Birthday!

Its been a couple weeks since our big girl turned 1 and had her very first birthday party! I finally got around to uploading all the pictures (there were many) and am so excited to share them with you! She had the best day despite getting her 1 year shots the day before, which are never fun. But she seemed to not be bothered much which I was very thankful for. The last thing I wanted was for her to feel like crap at her own party.

I was so happy with how everything turned out! I have been thinking about this party for a while now and it was great to finally see my "vision" come to life. We went with a "classic birthday" theme with lots of balloons, confetti, and sprinkles. We had tons of desserts and glass bottle cokes which were such a hit, especially with Harper.

She LOVED having everyones attention and all eyes on her! She totally hammed it up and enjoyed every minute. She had her first taste of cake, ice cream, coke, and doughnut all of which she was obsessed with! I'm sure she wonders why we don't eat that for every meal now. She got so many great presents from everyone and she seriously loves them all! Overall it was a great party and the birthday girl had a blast, which is always my ultimate goal!

2013-Year In Review

Well its 2014! I can honestly say that 2013 has been one of the best years of my life thanks to Tyler and our sweet Harper. They make everything more fun! This year was a year of firsts for us. First smile, first tooth, first holidays, first vacations...and the list goes on. It's kind of sad that all her "firsts" are pretty much over, but I know that things will just get more and more fun as time goes on. Here are some of my favorite moments from 2013:

Right before Harper made her grand entrance.

Tiny, brand new Harper Mitchell Haraway.

LOVE that little lip :)

About 3 months old staying in her first hotel. (In Atlanta to watch her granddaddy run in a race)

Naked baby booties are the best!

Back when she would actually nap in her crib...sigh.

Balder than ever at her first Arts Alive!

What a ham!!!

Our favorite spot at the beach; drinking coffee on the deck every morning.

Sitting up by herself for the first time on 4th of July!

First time riding in the buggy like a big girl.

6 months model shots. Getting chubby :)

Such a stinker!

She started eating real food and couldn't be happier about it!

First time at the fair!

Strolling the streets of Chicago.

First flower girl experience in aunt Toni's wedding.

UNA's homecoming parade which she loved!

Learning how to pull up :)

Chasing her fav balloon on Halloween.

Loving on her "bah-bee"

Obsessed with watching Daddy play with the iPad.

She saw Santa and didn't cry!!!

Christmas mornings will never be the same :)

We had a great year and I can't wait to see what 2014 brings! It has some pretty big shoes to fill. Happy New Year!
